老臣少君宫廷斗气各不相让，少君老臣口角之争各有千秋。在本剧的前传《李卫当官1》中，李卫由一名街头小混混，变成了一代名吏。在本剧中，一开始雍正已逝，乾隆即位。有道是一朝天子一朝臣，登位之初，乾隆对李卫一点儿也不喜欢，尤其看不惯李卫身上的混混气。碍于是前朝老臣，能留给几分面子就已经不错了。李卫何等聪明，乾隆又是他在雍亲王府里看著长大的，知道这个新皇帝和雍正的行事为人全然不同，所以从一开始，他就决意辞官，回家种地去。年轻的乾隆由于经验不足，往往事与愿违，越想展示自己的才华，越是常常陷入尴尬。而李卫一心想辞官归里，可越想躲越躲不过，还因为他的老辣和老道，将一件件棘手的难事办得滴水不漏，每次帮乾隆保住了面子，于是别人想爬爬不上去的，李卫却想下还死活下不来……　　乾隆面对李卫是很矛盾的，既不喜欢他又不能不用，当最讨厌李卫的时候，恰恰李卫办出了漂亮的事；当想重用李卫的时候，李卫却自己往后退，一再递上辞官摺子，令乾隆气也不能恨也不是。李卫面对乾隆，也是无可奈何，由于有一层君臣的名分，大水漫不过鸭子。面对乾隆的华而不实、心高气盛的作为，也常常有戏弄之举，由于行事老道，分寸火候拿捏得让谁也说不出什么……

Nyborg had to resign, and chose at the same time to step down as party leader in order to make way for new, up-and-coming figures. She has thus left politics, and is now a highly-paid speaker in the business world.
